In his role as President of FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys) Julian Crump will be leading an international FICPI delegation to Munich next month for private meetings with António Campinos, President of the EPO (European Patent Office), and Carl Josefsson, President of the Boards of Appeal.
Key topics for discussion with Mr. Campinos and his team on 12 March 2019 will include the EPO’s Strategic Plan and the EPO’s sponsorship of the FICPI’s Academy of Education patent drafting courses in Southeast Asia and Latin America amongst other things. As far as the Boards of Appeal are concerned, we plan to discuss the proposed new Rules of Procedure and the role of the Boards of Appeal within the EPO’s organisation.
Julian said "Whilst the agenda is matter for FICPI’s Study & Work Commission, I am always interested to hear from clients or colleagues in the profession with any comments they have about the EPO or the Boards of Appel that might usefully be raised with them." Julian can be contacted by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
