A new government strategy offers up to £5,000 to help SMEs and innovative businesses protect and commercialise their IP in an attempt to support a post-pandemic recovery. The IP Access grants can be used to cover a number of costs including professional fees for IP services and the management of IP assets enabling businesses to develop and grow securely.
This scheme is an extension of the UK IPO IP Audits Plus programme and was highlighted by the government in its innovation strategy outlined here:
Companies are eligible to apply if they have completed a part-funded IP audit between April 2020 and March 2022 with an IP audit plus partner.

It cannot be used for the official fees for patent applications, registered design or filing trade marks.
Applications for IP Access are now open and will remain open until 12pm on the 31st March 2022.
