MEng Mechanical Engineering with a Year in Industry, University of Nottingham
Anirudh joined Abel + Imray in September 2025, based in the Bath office. Prior to this, he developed a strong academic foundation during his university studies, with particular focus on material science, system dynamics, and the numerical and computational analysis of solids and fluids.
In his fourth year, Anirudh completed an Industrial Year at Airbus within the Wing Design Team, contributing to the incremental development of A330 and A350 aircraft wings. This experience provided him with valuable insight into large-scale engineering projects and collaborative design processes.
For his final year project, Anirudh conducted research into hybrid nanoscroll coatings and solid lubricants for high-frequency aerospace components. He assessed tribological performance through a one-factor-at-a-time experimental design, incorporating contact profilometry data, electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to determine the optimal material configuration.
Beyond academic pursuits, Anirudh served as President of University of Nottingham Tennis during his final year at university. As one of the largest university sports clubs in the UK, the role involved hosting over 650 members and leading the delivery of tennis programming, managing budgets and sponsorships, enhancing team performance, and promoting student wellbeing and engagement.
