Sarah joined Abel & Imray in 2015 and is based in the Bath Office. She began work as an Engineer at Frazer-Nash Consultancy Ltd, focussing on nuclear power and aerospace projects. Sarah undertook a year-long secondment to Oldbury Power Station and provided structural integrity analysis of the graphite moderator in support of the life-extension safety case. Prior to joining Abel & Imray, Sarah worked at the Higher Education Funding Council for England under the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Sarah qualified as a UK patent attorney in 2020 and her work at Abel & Imray spans a wide range of engineering and physics disciplines, including in the aerospace, oil and gas, consumer electronics, ICT and defence sectors. Sarah has worked closely with in-house counsel, having completed a year-long secondment with the IP team of a large UK-based client, and enjoys working with multi-national companies and SMEs alike.
Sarah’s experience includes infringement and freedom-to-operate matters, patent filing and prosecution work and design registration work. Sarah has helped to secure positive outcomes for clients in Oral Proceedings before the UK and European patent offices. She regularly provides IP education seminars, and enjoys supporting clients with delivering IP awareness and training programmes.
