Sarah joined Abel + Imray in 2015 and is based in the Bath Office. Prior to joining Abel + Imray, Sarah worked as an Engineer, at Frazer-Nash Consultancy, on nuclear power and aerospace projects. Sarah has also worked in the Civil Service, under the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Sarah handles patent and design work, specialising in physics and engineering subject matter. She works with clients in the automotive, space, energy, and defence sectors. Sarah has experience in handling official-sensitive and secret classified work.
Sarah advises SME clients and also works closely with in-house counsel, having undertaken a secondment with the IP team of a large multi-national organisation. She regularly provides IP education seminars, and enjoys supporting clients with delivering IP awareness and training programmes.
Sarah’s work includes patent drafting and prosecution, design registration work, freedom-to-operate work, and advising on contentious matters (infringement). Sarah has helped to secure positive outcomes for clients in Oral Proceedings before the UK and European patent offices.
Sarah founded the Non-traditional Family Network as a community within IP Inclusive. Sarah is committed to working towards improving diversity and inclusivity in the patent and trademark professions.
